This piece is like a roller coaster because there was a lot that happened in this story like there was a lot of twist and turns. I say that because in a roller coaster has a lot of twist and turns. In this piece so much happened that I could relate it to in real life but what else I had to do is find the broader meaning of it to and that was a challenge of it’s own.

A Dolls House

The slamming door means that Nora is done with the marriage after she saw another side of Torvald and is going to find herself and realize what she wants in life and that she is really mad. The broader meaning is that she is closing the door of her past and moving on with her life so she can do things on her own. The literal meaning is that you have to close one door to open another and that you are mad at someone and what to get away from them.

The masquerade is a dance where everyone is dressed up and is wearing masks and really big dresses and dancing and you are dressed like a character because they are too afraid to reveal their real selves. The broader meaning is that when Dr.Rank said what they should go as and that describes them personal and because Dr.Rank is going to kill himself after the dance is over. Nora agreed with it because she knew what he meant by what he said they should go as and she knew he was going to kill himself.

The letters mean that he tells them what happened without talking to them face to face. The broader meaning means that the play depends on what Krogstad writes to Torvald. In the first letter he tells Torvald everything and the second letter said that he would withdraw and take back what he said in the first letter. Ms. Linde tells Krogstad to keep the letter in the box because he needed to know. The literal meaning is that to write someone without being there in person to do it because sometimes you can’t tell it to them in person without them being really angry with you.

The Tarantella is a dance where the man shows off the women and where they dance to save their life. The broader meaning is that they said it would save you from something poison in you and Nora is dancing her heart out to save her life from what Krogstad wrote to Torvald. In Ibsen society it was for the man to show off what they have and to impress people with it then they have to leave. Torvald has to be in control at the tarantella because everyone will be watching them and he wants to make a really good impression with his future co workers.

The macaroons literal meaning is a cookie that was very expensive in Ibsen’s society. The broader meaning is that Nora really loves macaroons but they are really expensive and they still haven’t got the extra money so they really can’t afford it yet. In Ibsen’s society macaroons are cookies that have coconut on them and they are expensive so unless you were rich you really can’t get them and they symbolized that you are rich and can afford the better things in life. It means you can afford things that nobody else can get and Nora thinks that since her husband got a raise she can spend the money right away but he doesn’t start till the beginning of the next year.

A Fancy Dress literal meaning is a dress that is really beautiful that everyone wants to have. The broader meaning is that Torvald just wants to show Nora off in the best dress to show off what a great family he has and just to show off how much money he has. It also means just to show how rich you might be and to go to a party and just show off everything that you have and what you know you have. Another literal meaning is that it is just to see how rich you are and that you are hiding from people behind the dress because you want people to think that you are ok and that nothing is wrong.
